Ann Humphrey

Tax Partner

Ann studied law at Durham University and King’s College London and also holds an MBA from the Open University. She trained at a top ten City firm and later worked at three leading City practices—serving as partner at two. She has been a Solicitor since 1977 and is a member of both the VAT Practitioners’ Group and the Stamp Taxes Practitioners’ Group.

Alongside her practice, Ann serves as a Fee‑Paid Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeal Chamber) and previously worked as a Stagiaire at the European Commission. She advises businesses and professional advisers on a wide range of business tax matters, drawing on decades of deep technical and commercial experience.

Her publications include Stamp Duty Land Tax: A Practical Guide for Lawyers (3rd edition due 2026, Spiramus Press) and VAT and Property (Sparamus Press).
